Trusting

Trusting

Through shared thinking we learn to trust. Trust is built through empathy (not standing in another person's shoes, but understanding why a person occupies the shoes they do!). It is built through respect, for difference for example and for the validity of a person's differentiated thinking. Also, our research has shown us that praise is vital in the building of trust and commitment at work. Praise should be consistent, fair and constant. Research shows that trust is a time based phenomenon. It cannot be demanded or granted, but gained through observed behavior. We trust people through the alignment of the words and actions, and the values they demonstrate in their relationships with others.
